Gov Ortom assures state civil servants of continuous promotion
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, swearing-in Chairman and members of the Benue State Civil Service Commission on Monday, assured that he will sustain the promotion of deserving civil servants in the state so that they will their best in the performance of their duties.
Governor Ortom described the civil service as the engine room of government, noting that the civil service can only work properly if it is well taken care of. He asserted that his government has taken the welfare of civil servants as a top priority.
The governor encouraged the civil servants to sustain their understanding and patience with the state government, saying that everything necessary was being done to ensure that salary arrears, pensions and gratuity are settled.
Governor Ortom explained that the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission was chosen based on merit having distinguished himself as a civil servant of repute before becoming a permanent secretary. He enjoined the commission members to work in synergy with the Head of Service for optimal results.

The new appointees include William Itodo, chairman, Mrs. Keziah Agundu, Akpa Idu and Myina Agber – members.
Chairman of the Benue State Civil Service Commission, Itodo thanked The governor for the opportunity to serve, promising to work with the Head of Service to achieve the desired results.
A new Special Adviser from Tarka Local Government area, Yiman Aboh, was also sworn in by the governor to replace Aondoaver Adenguhar, who is the PDP chairmanship candidate for Tarka local government council.
