In kidnap operations that killed uncle, pregnant doctor, others, gangster gets N2000
Labaran (not real name) has participated in no fewer than three kidnap operation, including his uncle’s and a professor’s. No fewer than two victims, including a pregnant doctor, killed in the course of the separate operation.
For his involvement, he got N2000, once, of the millions paid in ransom.
In a video uploaded online, the 30-year-old is confessing to newsmen at the headquarters of the Police Intelligence Response Team, Zaria, how he masterminded one involving his uncle, and how the accomplices killed the old man.
He said he lived at Tankarau, Dutsen Abba in Zaria, Kaduna, before he was arrested.
“I gave my uncle’s contact to Ayuba, who gave it to Isa and they went to his house and killed him.
“We were called for most of our operations. This is the only kidnap I masterminded.”
But he participated in the attack on the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre, Zaria.
“I received N2000 after the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre, Zaria, but nothing thereafter.
“When I called my accomplices two days later for my share, they threatened me.”
He led the operation to the house of Professor Aliyu Mohammed Wazirin Wusasa, too. They abducted the professor, killed his son and released him three weeks later after collecting N20 million.
