Joshua-Dubois set to break British Boxing attendance record
Anthony Joshua’s upcoming heavyweight title fight against Daniel Dubois on September 21st at Wembley Stadium is expected to shatter the record for British boxing attendance.
Promoters are anticipating a crowd exceeding 100,000, surpassing the current record of 94,000 set by Tyson Fury’s knockout victory over Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April 2023.
“We will be applying to increase the capacity…
I think we’ve got it, I think we will probably break that record,” declared promoter Frank Warren on talkSPORT.
Joshua, 34, is no stranger to massive stadium crowds.
He previously drew over 90,000 fans at Wembley in his 2017 win against Wladimir Klitschko.
Additionally, he has fought in front of 75,000 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and 62,000 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, his last two victories, knockouts over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou, took place in Saudi Arabia.
While acknowledging Joshua’s threat, Warren expressed optimism for Dubois’ chances.

“A lot of people are making Joshua a favorite… I hope he comes out and fights because if he lets those big punches go, I know that will leave him exposed,” Warren said.
“If Daniel clips him, it will knock him out.
I think Daniel is the bigger puncher.”
Warren highlighted Dubois’ recent experience against tougher opponents compared to Joshua.
“He’s a young man, he’s fought better opposition in his last three fights than AJ has,” he stated.
The September 21st fight promises an electric atmosphere with a record-breaking crowd and the potential for a major upset.
