Lagos CP warns MC Oluomo, state NURTW against protest
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Abiodun Alabi, has issued a stern warning to the suspended state chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, and members of the union, to desist from any form of protest on the state. The CP cautioned that the State Police Command will not tolerate any form of protest by any group.
CP Alabi assured residents of Lagos State that the police are on red alert to forestall any act of protest in any part of the state that could lead to breakdown of law and order.
The National Union of Road Transport Workers Union (NURTW) from Abuja in a letter dated March 9, 2022, signed by NURTW General Secretary, Kabiru Yau, on Monday, suspended Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, indefinitely.
The Lagos State government subsequently suspended the activities of NURTW in all motor parks and garages in the state.
