The Red Devils fans are fast forgetting the taste of EPL victory at Old Trafford after United were beaten yet again at home by another rival Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team were simply beaten 2-0 by City on Saturday as Pep Guardiola and his team’s dominance was worse than the scoreline suggested.

The United’s sore defeat over the weekend was their third in the last four matches and leaves them nine points behind leaders Chelsea after 11 games played.

Solskjaer had seemed to have survived the devastating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool last two weekends when United returned to winning ways by thrashing Tottenham 3-0 away, but the Old Trafford club were brought down to earth yet again by City last weekend leaving the Red Devils with just one win in their last six league games.

The development at Old Trafford has seen Solskjaer unable to turn around United’s results which is sadly beginning to leave the confidence of the side in shatters and this has since given rise to the call for an urgent replacement of the Norwegian.

But National Daily gathered from the claims by Guardian that United have no immediate plans of axing Solskjaer which means that the 48-year-old is expected to be in charge as the Red Devils play guests to Watford in their next game after the international break.

It is sadly believed that a number of United players are said to be concerned with the lack of direction from Solskjaer and his coaching staff, with players feeling they lack a plan in matches.

Bruno Fernandes is believed to be one of the most concerned, while Cristiano Ronaldo is alarmed at the drop in standards at the club since he departed in 2009.

United fans were alarmed when it appeared that Antonio Conte was keen to take charge at Old Trafford but United were believed to be concerned that the Italian represented a short-term fix and the 52-year-old has since joined Tottenham instead.

Meanwhile, National Daily understands that the duo of PSG and Leicester City bosses Mauricio Pochettino and Brendan Rogers respectively are believed to be attracting interests from Old Trafford with the former believed to be United’s long term target.
