Nigerian Air Force launches medical outreach for Borno flood victims
In response to the severe floods that have devastated parts of Borno State, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has initiated a sustained medical outreach to aid residents of Maiduguri.
The outreach, which began on September 11, 2024, at a primary school near the NAF Base in Maiduguri, was directed by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, to provide medical assistance and essential relief materials to those affected by the crisis.
The NAF’s initiative is focused on addressing the immediate needs of flood survivors by offering free medical consultations, medications, and distributing insecticide-treated mosquito nets.

Additionally, families in need are receiving food and water supplies. Among those receiving care is a woman who gave birth the previous night, now under the specialized attention of the medical team.
This effort is part of a broader coordinated response involving the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
The NAF’s intervention, which will continue as long as necessary, is critical in preventing disease outbreaks and ensuring the health and safety of vulnerable groups, particularly women, children, and the elderly.
