According to a statement released on the army’s official website and X platform, the mourning period commenced on June 25 and will conclude on June 27, 2025.
During this time, the Nigerian Army flag is being flown at half-mast at all military institutions across the country as a mark of respect and tribute to the fallen heroes.
The statement further confirmed the deaths, expressing the army’s deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased soldiers.
