Nigerian Troops Kill 12 ISWAP Terrorists, Recover Weapons in Borno
Nigerian troops under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed 12 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters during clearance operations in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, which was supported by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms from the Air Component Command, targeted terrorist strongholds in Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, and Gaza communities long notorious for insurgent activity.

According to a statement by OPHK Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the troops encountered insurgents at Loskori Kura, leading to a heavy gun battle in which 12 terrorists were neutralised.

Recovered items include eight AK-47 rifles, eight magazines loaded with 7.62mm ammunition, as well as an assorted cache of drugs and medical supplies believed to have been used by the insurgents.
Military authorities commended the troops for their “renewed vigour” and urged the Theatre Command to sustain the onslaught against insurgents in the region.
Mafa, located about 60 kilometers’ from Maiduguri, remains a flashpoint in the long-running insurgency in Nigeria’s northeast.
