Obi congratulates Diomaye Faye, President of Senegal
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has congratulated the new President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, on his victory in the recent presidential election in the country.
Obi acknowledging the relative youth status of the president elect, noted that it is a refreshing aspect of the outcome of the election in Senegal. He commended the people of Senegal for their active participation in the election.

“I like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Bassirou Diomaye Faye for his victory in the Senegalese Presidential election. This triumph stands significantly as a testament to the beauty of democracy and the unwavering power of the people.
“I commend the Senegalese people for their active participation in the polls and their dedication to shaping the future of their nation.
“A refreshing aspect of the Senegalese outcome is the relative youth of the president elect. If this trend towards youthful leadership takes hold, we may be heading towards the era of a new youthful leadership in Africa.
