Ogun police investigate cult clash that claimed 34-year-old man’s life
The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into a suspected cult-related attack that led to the killing of a 34-year-old man, Abdulazeez Olatunji Ojoro, in the Oluwo area of Adigbe, Abeokuta.
The tragic incident occurred on the night of February 24, 2025, around 10:10 PM.
According to a police report, officers from the Adigbe Division swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood. A preliminary examination revealed fatal gunshot wounds to his left eye and right chest, suggesting he was shot at close range.
Early investigations indicate that Ojoro was allegedly involved in the illicit drug trade within the Oluwo area, a factor that may have contributed to the attack. The perpetrators, believed to be members of a rival cult group, fled the scene before the police arrived.
