Opta Supercomputer predicts PSG victory against Arsenal in UCL final
Paris Saint-Germain have been tipped as slight favourites to defeat Arsenal in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in Budapest, according to predictions generated by the Opta Supercomputer ahead of the highly anticipated showdown.
Data released by The Analyst showed that the Opta Supercomputer gives PSG a 56 per cent probability of successfully defending their Champions League crown, while Arsenal were assigned a 44 per cent chance of emerging victorious and completing a historic domestic and European double.
The final, scheduled to take place at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, is expected to deliver a clash between two contrasting football styles, with Europe’s most prolific attacking side facing one of the continent’s strongest defensive units.
For PSG, victory would cement their status among Europe’s elite clubs and make them the first team outside Real Madrid to successfully defend the Champions League title in the modern era of the competition since it was rebranded in 1992-93.
Real Madrid remains the only club to achieve consecutive Champions League triumphs in the modern era, having won the title three times in succession between the 2015-16 and 2017-18 seasons.

Arsenal, meanwhile, is chasing history of their own after recently securing the Premier League title. The North London club is seeking to become only the fourth English side to win both the domestic league title and the European Cup or UEFA Champions League in the same season.
Previously, only Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City have accomplished the feat.
Liverpool achieved the double during the 1976-77 and 1983-84 campaigns, while Manchester United completed it in the 1998-99 and 2007-08 seasons. Manchester City later joined the elite group after winning both trophies in the 2022-23 campaign.
Saturday’s final also marks Arsenal’s return to the Champions League final stage for the first time in two decades, adding further significance to the occasion for manager Mikel Arteta and his players.
The Opta analysis highlighted PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as one of the standout performers heading into the final.
The Georgian international has recorded the highest number of goal involvements in the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League, contributing to 10 goals through scoring and assists.
He also became the first player to either score or assist in seven consecutive Champions League knockout appearances within a single campaign, underlining his importance to PSG’s attacking setup.
Football analysts believe PSG’s recent experience in high-pressure European fixtures could give the French champions a psychological advantage heading into the contest.
However, Arsenal’s disciplined defensive structure, tactical organisation, and strong league form have also earned praise throughout the season, making the final difficult to predict despite PSG’s slight statistical edge.
