The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday revealed the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket for the 2023 elections to Southern Nigeria, while the party shifts the National Chairman position to the North.
The PDP National Zoning Committee under the chairmanship of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, after wide consultation, resolved that the presidential ticket has been zoned to the South comprising of the South-West, South-East and South-South, as the national leadership structure shifts to the North comprising the North-West, North-East, and North-Central.
Meanwhile, the party is yet to make an official statement on the zoning, however, the resolution to zone the party’s leadership to the North indicated that the presidential ticket has gone to the other part of the country.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi had earlier said that the committee had no mandate to zone the presidential ticket but only assigned the responsibility to zone party leadership positions.
