By Kingsley Chukwuka
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has said the party will not impose any candidate in the coming party primaries, saying there will be a level playing ground for all aspirants.
NNPP said the party will learn from the mistake of the People’s Democratic Party PDP and the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the State, that imposed its governorship candidates.
Speaking with journalists, Monday in Jos, the NNPP State Chairman, Comrade Tokji Mandim said with the current crisis rocking the APC and the PDP as a result of imposition, the NNPP have an edge to take over power in Plateau come 2023.
According to him: “The NNPP in Plateau will not discriminate against aspirants, we will provide a level playing ground for all aspirants to participate without any imposition like APC and PDP did, and surely we will present the best candidates for Governorship, Senate, House of Reps and State Assembly to take over the State in 2023.
“Our priority is to salvage Plateau State and Nigeria from its present insecurity, economic hardship and also tackle the welfare of youth and women.
“We will displace APC and PDP to become internally Displaced Parties in Plateau because they have destroyed their parties with imposition and they are complete failures from top to bottom”, Mandim said.
He added that the government of NNPP will focus on developing tourism to salvage the State from being permanently a civil service State depending on federal allocation every month.
He disclosed that NNPP as a party is dominated by the youths and women not as APC and PDP who parade’s old people as their candidates all the times
Mandim assured that the NNPP will participate fully in the 2023 general election, saying that the party already have six aspirants for governorship in Plateau and nine Senatorial aspirants for North, Central and Southern Senatorial Zones which primaries will be conducted within the week.
