Police on manhunt for Seigo, Lagos NURTW leader, over APC violent campaign
The Lagos State Police command has commenced manhunt for a leader of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) over the violence that broke out during the kick off of the 2019 electioneering campaign in Lagos State of the ruling All P0orgressives Congress, (APC).
Accordingly, the State Police Command has declared Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Seigo. a leader of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos, wanted.
The Police disclosed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the violence that broke out at the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship rally in Lagos, on Tuesday.
The Police narrated that the NURTW leader attended the rally with a group of people identified at the entrance as supporters of the party, only for them to violently attack other supporters of the party for no reason.
The state police command in a statement indicated that another NURTW chieftain, MC Oluomo, was stabbed and rushed to the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
Some journalists were reportedly hit by a stray bullet at the rally and sustained injury in the process.
The campaign rally held in Ikeja to mobilise support for APC governorship candidate in the state, Babajide Sanwoolu, for the March election in the state.
