Police parade teenager over killing of woman 70, daughter in robbery operation
The Police Command in Katsina State have paraded a teenager and three other boys arrested for armed robbery and killing two of their victims in an operation at a household in Jibiya Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent Gambo Isah, identified the arrested robbers as Muhammed Aliyu, Buhari Umar, Annas Dahiru and Samaila Musa, adding that they were between the ages of 19 and 25 years.
Superintendent Gambo Isah during the parade, narrated that the boys jumped through the fence of one Babangida Muhammad at Dan-Tudu Quarters, Jibiya Local Government Area, killing a 70-year-old mother, Sa’adatu Muhammad, and the daughter, Aishatu Babangida.
The boys were said to have injured four of Babangida Muhammad young children.
The leader of the syndicate, Annas Dahiru, 20 years, admitted that they robbed the household of their neighbour.
Dahiru narrated that on return from the Maulud celebration, they went to the house, expecting they would get enough money from there.
The gang leader added that on gaining access into the house, an old woman came screaming, which made Muhammed Aliyu’s use a pestle to hit her head, killing her instantly.
The man’s daughter was strangled to death, he said.
In the struggle to strangulate the lady, he ordered one of his colleagues to hit the girl with an iron on her head, leading to her death.
Dahiru revealed that they stole a full bag of used wrappers from the house.
However, they were arrested by the police when they assembled to share the loot the following morning.
