Rep Beni Lar Prepared me for this job – Plateau Assembly member- elect, says
The member-elect to represent Langtang North/North State constituency of the Plateau State house of Assembly, under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Nannim Joseph Langyi has said haven’t worked with the National Assembly member, Hon. Beni Lar for over a decade, he is better positioned to lead his constituents for greater prosperity.
Langyi said he has learnt from the legendary Lar who has represented the people of Langtang North/Langtang South federal Constituency for the fifth time without rancor, saying that as a good learner he will replicate the good works of her mentor when sworn-in to represent his people at the 10th Assembly.
“Haven’t worked with our dear mother Hon. Beni Lar, the fifth-time member representing Langtang North/Langtang South federal Constituency for decades, I will do well as a good student to provide favorable legislature that will directly address the need of my people”, Langyi said while speaking with newsmen shortly after he received his certificate of return at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Jos, yesterday.
He said his priority will be to boost small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with the aim to create more jobs for the youths of his constituency..
“Our youths are full of potential but lack opportunities to showcase them. So with access to soft loans they will exhibit their talents and become better for it”.
He continued: “My people are looking up to me with great expectations. I will make sure I go to any length within the ambit of the law to bring dividends of democracy to their door steps. I will do everything humanly possible to protect their interest at any time”, he said.
He explained that he was propelled to join the race because of his desire to serve the people at the grassroot with a view to make a huge impact in their lives.
“As a grassroot politician, I will not take the mandate given to me for granted”, Langyi said.
