Reuben Abati reacts as APC claim Tinubu will organize his own debate
The Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again failed to honor the invitation of the Arise TV to the Town hall meetings to debate his ideas. The APC had claimed that their candidates have an hectic schedule that deters him from attending all these debates. And that they will organize their own meetings to engage the people.
Popular Nigerian Journalist, Dr. Reuben Abati has explained that APC is trying to control the engagement of their Presidential candidate with the Nigerian people. Dr. Reuben asserted that this is why Tinubu is consistently snubbing these meetings and that he’s also establishing his own narrative. He said, ”Keyamo pointed out in his statement that the APC will organize more grassroots interaction town meetings. What we can take from this is that the APC wants to control the engagement of their candidate, Bola Tinubu with the public. They want to be the ones in charge of their own processes.
However, the whole idea of interacting with the public is the same thing Bankers talk about and that is knowing your customers. The KYC here is to know your candidate and I think that the political parties should not hide under excuses to avoid any opportunity to engage with Nigerians in the public.”
