Robber kills colleague for operation gone bad
A three-man robbery gang ambushed a commercial vehicle heading to Lagos at Ifira-Akoko, Ondo on Wednesday, and the operation was successful thanks to lynchpin Musa Jamiu.
No fewer than 18 passengers were robbed of their luggage, and, while they were being herded into the bush, the Amotekun security came.
Amotekun Corps Commander in the state, Adetunji Adeleye said the corps gave a chase, and the passenger bus the criminals already commandeered got cornered up.
“They opened fire on our men and thereafter, we were able to apprehend two of them,” he said.
The arrest spawned a crisis within the gang.
“One of the armed robbers was angry with the other one for leaving a trace, and he fired his colleagues in the thigh.”
The corps commandant said Aliyu did that to conceal some facts.
“Our men quickly rushed the injured one to a nearby hospital where he later gave up the ghost,” he said.
