RRS clamps down on robbers, pickpockets at Oshodi

In a renewed effort to eliminate the activities of street urchins and criminals at Oshodi following barrages of complaints by commuters, the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command has vowed to end their nocturnal activities.
As a result, they have intensified their patrol in all the nooks and crannies including hotspots notorious for attacks of commuters by criminal elements.
The RRS disclosed that the raid was carried out Saturday night around Ossified especially at Oshodi Oke, after all manner of negative stories from passers-by saturate is p the office of RRS.
National Daily learnt that three of the hoodlums were arrested when RRS management team led by its Commander, ACP Olatunji Disu and his second in Command, CSP Samuel Awopetu, as well as Head of Operations, DSP Akinwunmi Oke, and the DPO of Oshodi, toured some of the hotspots where the bad guys usually converge at night.
It was also gathered that on the average, RRS officers arrest at least four robbers and pickpockets in Oshodi every week hence the agency is determined to carry out more raid subsequently.

National Daily reports that there have been ceaseless dispossession of belongings of passersby by the bad boys in Oshodi.
National Daily recalls that for some years now, Oshodi has been on the radar of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) considering that it is known for its notoriety by criminal gangs.
Apart from positioning its officers there with an armour personnel carrier, the officers of its undercover team occasionally prowl the length and breadth of Oshodi at night to keep the bad boys at bay.
With the disturbing reports of attacks at night, the RRS has vowed that it would continue clampdown on pickpockets and robbers.
