Rufai Oseni reacts to Meghan Markle statement of being 45% Nigerian
Amid ongoing public reactions surrounding the announcement made by the Duchess of Sussex and former Hollywood actress, Meghan Markle, stating that she has 43 percent Nigerian heritage, renowned political analyst, Rufai Oseni, came to share her reflections on development.
Let us not forget that, since Tuesday, October 25, 2022, Meghan, who is married to Prince Harry, a grandson of the recently deceased British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, has disclosed that she is 43% Nigerian. The former actress sensed that she was an archetype and that she identified with no specific type of character or actress.
The disclosure of the former president of Nigeria caused a lot of noise and excitement among Nigerians online.
That involves Oseni Rufai. Rafai said he’s not surprised by Meghan’s Nigerien legacy, and he doesn’t think it makes her less of a person. He says that most African Americans are from Africa or another African region because that region was known for the slave trade during the colonial era. He said that many slaves were abducted from that area at the time.
“I mean, yes, it’s likely African Americans would live close to those areas in Africa and Nigeria. We all remember what happened in Dahomey-Point-of-No-Return. Most of the people were abducted and trafficked from these areas. Large portions of Nigeria, large portions of that area, Cameroon, and the like. It doesn’t surprise me, “he said.
