Frank Lampard has singled out Willian for special praise after Chelsea’s 4-1 victory over Southampton on Sunday. Chelsea cruised to a comfortable victory at St Mary’s following goals from Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi.

After the match, Lampard gave a special mention to Willian by claiming that the Brazilian is setting a brilliant example for Chelsea’s younger players. Lampard also said that he felt Willian has been Chelsea’s best player in recent weeks. ‘The balance at the moment is good and that needs to stay and improve,’ said Lampard.

‘His work ethic off the ball, we talk to the wingers and what we want off the ball we can show them that video of what Willian did today. ‘His quality, his bursts of pace, on the ball what he can do, the last four or five games I think he’s been our best player. ‘And that’s a great thing to say when you’ve got players who are examples on the pitch around these young boys.
