Senator Natasha reacts to Sandra Duru’s allegations
Suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has strongly denied a series of allegations made against her by UK-based Nigerian businesswoman, Sandra Duru, also known as Prof Mgbeke.
In a Facebook livestream on Thursday, Duru accused Senator Natasha of falsely claiming that Senate President Godswill Akpabio sexually harassed her. She also alleged that the Senator tried to enlist her in a smear campaign against Akpabio, offering millions of naira and large sums in US dollars as an incentive.
Duru claimed the aim was to discredit Akpabio and politically weaken President Bola Tinubu by targeting one of his key allies. She played audio recordings she claimed were conversations with the Senator as evidence.

Responding in a statement on Friday, Senator Natasha described the claims as entirely false and accused Duru of acting on behalf of Akpabio.
“I watched the Facebook livestream posted by Sandra C. Duru on May 1, 2025. The voice attributed to me in the recordings was manipulated and does not reflect any genuine interaction I’ve had,” she said.
She added that Duru, who previously went by the name Prof. Mgbeke online, was pushing a false narrative and vowed to address the accusations more comprehensively in due time.
