Super Powers under pressure to join Israel-Iran war, Russia warns U.S. against direct attack on Iran
Global Super Powers are beginning to show curiosity in the Israel-Iran war, and may be tempted to join the battle, after the United States (U.S.) had warned people to leave Tehran.
While the U.S., United Kingdom (U.K.), France and and European countries have shown solidarity for Israel; on the other divide Russia, China, North Korea, Belarus, are expressing solidarity for Iran.
Paradoxically, global polarization of the Super Powers is on the offing.
China had earlier called for caution on Tuesday, while Russia sounded is voice on Wednesday.
Apparently, Russia has warned United States of America against direct involvement on Israel’s side in the conflict with Iran.
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Ryabkov, at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum noted that “it would be a step that would radically destabilise the whole situation.”
He added that “even speculation over U.S. participation is dangerous.”
Russia has criticised Israel sharply over its strikes against Iran, accusing the Israeli leadership of leading the world to the brink of nuclear catastrophe.
Moscow and Tehran are seen as close partners in the Middle East.
Attacks were continuing on Wednesday, with the world awaiting a decision by President Donald Trump on whether the U.S. will join Israel’s strikes on Iran. (Dpa/NAN)
