Three men arrested in Port Huron for alleged illegal crossing from Canada

Police in Port Huron have arrested three men who are accused of illegally entering the United States by raft from Canada.
Local authorities reported that the suspects, identified as Mexican citizens, were spotted near the mouth of the Black River on Monday.
Officers observed the men carrying duffel bags as they fled northbound on Michigan Street, close to Grand River Avenue.
Investigators believe they crossed the St. Clair River using a raft, which was later identified by authorities.
The suspects were arrested, detained, and subsequently handed over to U.S. Border Patrol.

Authorities also released an image of the raft allegedly used in the crossing, which occurred on September 23, 2024.
In a news release, the Port Huron Police Department urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
