Three persons killed in fresh shooting at Michigan State University
Three persons have been reported dead in a shooting by a suspected 43-year-old black man at Michigan State University, city of East Lansing, United States of America late on Monday.
Police said the gunman killed himself after firing several people which resulted in the death of three persons with many injured.
Police described the suspect as “a black male, shorter in stature” with no known affiliation to the university. He was also said not to be living on the campus.
According to the BBC, students and local residents were told to shelter in place during the manhunt.
It adds that police later lifted the order, saying there was “no longer a threat to campus”.

“Police officers responded to the attack, finding victims at the Berkey Hall on the campus’s north side, and the adjacent Michigan State University Union building.
“At a news briefing, the police said there were several crime locations, and their investigation was continuing. The attacker’s motive is not known.
“A number of ambulances were seen arriving at the scene, and the injured – some of them believed to be in a life-threatening condition – are now being treated in hospital,” BBC reports.
“This truly has been a nightmare that we are living tonight,” Deputy Chief Chris Rozman of the university’s police force was quoted to have said.
Reports say all campus activities have been cancelled for at least 48 hours.
