Tsav appeals for acceptance of Ortom’s court victory, but accuses him of bad governance
FORMER Lagos Commissioner of Police and prominent Benue leader, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, has called on indigenes of Benue State to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court upholding the victory of Governor Samuel Ortom in the last gubernatorial election in the state.
According to Tsav, a staunch critic of the governor, the Ortom /Tarzoor electoral dispute should now bring the issue to rest.
He argued that the Supreme Court decision was the ultimate whether anybody liked it or not and that the matter should now be regarded as closed.
‘Supporters of Ortom will rejoice that God has favoured them while the Tarzoor’s group may not be happy that God disfavoured them,” Tsav commented on the verdict.
He however said that to rational thinkers like him, the Supreme Court verdict was an opportunity for evil and transgressions to continue.
Expressing his anger with the governor, he said: “Within a few months of him being Governor of Benue State, he has displayed traits of being vindictive, a liar, nepotist and propagandist.”
But with his confirmation by the Supreme Court as Governor of Benue State, Tsav expressed hope that Ortom would live to his oath of office by embracing all people of Benue State as his subjects, regardless of their Political, clannish or religious leaning and beliefs.
He advised the governor against using churches, burials and other social occasions for politicking and castigating his political opponents, thereby turning them into his nightmare.
He also urged him to start his own projects immediately instead of blaming his incapacity and failure on alleged political opponents.
While hinting of possible rapport between the governor and his critics in the state, Tsav said himself and others would continue to criticize him if he didn’t stop feeding them with lies, regardless of his threats of court action.
