Two die in Lagos-Ibadan expressway lone accident
Two people have been confirmed burnt beyond recognition in a lone accident that occurred at about 2:40am of Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Mowe area of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Confirming the ugly incident, Mowe Unit Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) ACC Abdullahi Denja, said the fatal crash, involving a DAF tanker with registration number YAB847YR, loaded with diesel fell down due to excessive speed by the driver.
He said the two persons (male) in the vehicle burnt beyond recognition when the vehicle fell down and caught fire after the driver lost control due to high speed.

“The two victims in the vehicle were burnt beyond recognition and efforts are ongoing to clear the obstruction and debris off the highway. Police, FRSC and other traffic management personnel are on ground managing the situation,” ACC Denja added.
Meanwhile, the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, CC Ahmed Umar, while commiserating with the victims’ families, urged motoring public to always observe the speed limits and other traffic rules while behind the wheels.
He said taking cognizance of road traffic rules and regulations is the only solution to end incessant crashes, loss of lives and properties on the road.
