UK nursing council to probe over 500 Nigerians over ‘fraudulent’ exam results

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the regulatory body overseeing nursing and midwifery professions in the UK, is set to probe over 500 Nigerian applicants over fraudulent activities in Nigeria.

This comes after it was revealed that the applicants might have engaged in exam fraud at a test centre in Ibadan, Oyo State.

To gain entry into this registry, international professionals must complete two assessments, including a Computer-Based Test (CBT) typically administered in their home country and a practical test in the UK.

Following an investigation into the activities of Yunnik Technologies, an Oyo State-based test centre, evidence of extensive fraudulent activity was uncovered in connection with its CBT services.

According to the Guardian, the investigation was initiated after the NMC was alerted to incidents of manip¥lated results at the test centre in May.
