VER 2-5 NAP: Why Victor Osimhen did the crying celebration after scoring a goal against Verona
The Super Eagles of Nigeria forward maestro and football talent, Victor Osimhen was sensational yesterday for Italian Serie A giant Napoli in their first league game of the new campaign away from home against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
The former LOSC Lille forward has been a key figure in the squad paraded by Italian tactician Luciano Spalletti since he took charge the helm of affairs at the club and he was outstanding for the Naples in the last campaign, where he played prominent role to help his team finished at the third spot on the table.
He was able to pick up his impressive goal scoring form this season as he kicked off his new campaign with two goals contributions (1G 1A) which were instrumental in their remarkable five goals to two scoreline at full time.
Goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Victor Osimhen, Piotr Zielinski, Stanislav Lobotka and Matteo Politano gave the visitor the five goals and the host having their two goals from Kevin Lasagna and Thomas Henry.
The main side of attraction here was the magical goal celebration made by the Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen after he gave his side a comeback lead going into the half time break.
Victor Osimhen was spotted with a crying celebration after giving his side the lead before the half time break which has got many people talking hitherto.
However, it should be noted that this celebration was a perfect response to racists as Victor Osimhen was a victim of this condemnable act in the world of football and all other sports in general.
It should be recalled that he was racially abused by the Hellas Verona’s home fans in the last campaign which was the same scenario in the show of the night yesterday as this prompted his gesture to get them teased, which was in respect to the way he was treated in the last campaign as well as yesterday before he got the opportunity to found the back of the net.
Verona fans kept booing Victor Osimhen in the game yesterday like they did in the last season after which he scored a vital and crucial goal, which was followed by the painful typical Nigerian expression in front of them as a perfect message for being a victim of insult and racist chants.
