VIPs named as 2000 bandits’ informants confess under interrogation
Eighty percent of bandits in Zamfara are no more, according to Information Commissioner Ibrahim Dosara
They didn’t die in the military operation going on in the state overwhelmed by bandits weeks ago.
“Just a day ago a Commissioner of Police in Sokoto said 80 percent of Zamfara bandits are now in Sokoto while only 20 percent are remaining in Katsina and Zamfara state,”Dosara said Thursday as he gave updates on the security situation at a conference in Kaduna.
“We have recorded a lot of successes in the last one month of the operation as many bandits have fled the state to Sokoto and Katsina state.”
The telecom shutdown has made the forest unbearable for the criminals in Zamfara.
Dosara revealed that no fewer than 2000 informants have been arrested.
Some of the arrested informants mentioned names of highly influential individuals as their collaborators.
He said the security agencies are working on the information given by the suspected informants to arrest those collaborators.
He added that state government is aware of the hardship the telecom shutdown which was highly regretted saying.
Dosara promised telecom ban will be lifted in Gusau, the state capital before the end of this week.
