The Police in Kogi State allegedly raided the home of the former Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, brother to James Faleke, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, in Ekinrin Adde, Kogi State, and whisked him to an unknown destination.
National Daily reliably gathered that the Police came in four heavily armed hilux vans, used a ladder to climb the fence, smashed the doors of the residence, broke into the ceilings and eventually took Olumoko who is a brother to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy Governorship candidate in the November 21, 2015 in Kogi, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, to an unknown destination.
Sources close to the family also stated that the 95 year old father and 70 year old mother of Olumoko were harassed and manhandled by the Police.
Meanwhile, the Audu/Faleke Political Organisation has condemned the invasion of the country home and arrest of Hon Olumoko, describing it as crude and high handed.
Faleke in a statement signed by his Campaign Organization’s Director of Media and Publicity, Hon Duro Meseko, said “the forceful manner the police were reported to have made their way into his residence reminds us of the dark days of military junta.
“Even if the Police have a case against him, are there no civilised ways to invite him for questioning rather than resort to this crude and shameful method employed? We call on the State Government and the leadership of the Police to order the release of Olumoko without delay so as not to aggravate the situation, ” he stated.
Responding to the situation, the Police Public Relation Officer of Kogi State Police Command, ASP William Aya, said he is yet to be briefed on the incident.
