Insecurity: Ogun Speaker urges residents to assist security agencies with information
Mr Olakunle Oluomo, the Speaker, Ogun House of Assembly, has appealed to residents to avail security agencies with useful information, saying it will help in reducing banditry and other criminal activities.
Oluomo stated this during plenary in Abeokuta on Tuesday, while responding to the submission of Mr Kemi Oduwole and Mrs Atinuke Bello, who spoke on the level of insecurity in their constituencies.
The Speaker asserted that security challenges remained a national issue, adding that it was important to give adequate information to security agencies whenever strange movements by individuals or groups were noticed.
Oluomo noted that traditional rulers as well as community leaders had roles to play in the fight against insecurity.
He said that the traditional rulers should be up to the task in the efforts to secure the environment.
Oluomo urged security operatives to extend their watch beyond herdsmen to solve the riddles surrounding insecurity in the state.
Earlier, Oduwole (Ijebu Ode) and Bello (Odogbolu) while speaking under personal explanation, informed the House about the menace of kidnappers in their constituencies.
They urged government and the security personnel to find lasting solutions to insecurity in the state.
