2023: Rescue Nigeria Project urges Nigerians to reject old politicians
A political group in Nigeria, Rescue Nigeria Project, at a consultative meeting in Abuja, enjoined Nigerians to reject old politicians during the 2023 general elections. The National Coordinator of the Rescue Nigeria Project, Usman Bugaje, speaking to Zonal and State Coordinators at the meeting in Abuja, decried the diminishing visionary leadership in Nigeria, cautioning Nigerians “to be wary of the antics of the same old politicians and reject them.”
The Project lamented that President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) rather than solving the many problems in Nigeria, are compounding the problems in the country.
The Project also lamented that successive leaders and governments, including the Buhari administration, progressively worsen the socio-economic crisis of the country, adding that emerging leadership lack the capacity to stimulate sustainable growth and development.
Usman Bugaje asserted that the level of insecurity in Nigeria is the worst since independence in 1960. He discredited “the entire crop of crass failure to solve any of Nigeria’s problems in the last 20 years.”
Bugaje maintained that corruption has not abated in the country, noting that the economy has continued to receive the bashing of corruption, leadership failure that have relegated Nigeria to ‘poverty capital’ of the world.
The Rescue Nigeria Project urged the Nigerian youths to ignore the old politicians during the 2023 general elections that plunged the country into the current pitiable conditions.
The National Coordinator of the Rescue Nigeria Project promised to continue to hold consultation and engagement with the people, especially, at the grassroots, adding that the outcome of the engagements will form the bases of the Project’s campaign in 2023.
The Rescue Nigeria Project clarified that it has no intention to float a political party but is ready to work with one of the existing political parties to achieve its objectives.
