Leave lasting legacy in your host communities – Coordinator tells corpers

Mr Chinwendu Chukwu, Rivers State Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps(NYSC) has urged corps members to leave lasting legacies in the communities they are posted for the national service.

Chukwu gave the advice in a statement issued to newsmen by Mr Christian Okereke, Head of Public Relations of the corps in the state on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.

He commended the 2021 batch B stream 1 corp members deployed to the state for their disciplined manner throughout the period of three weeks orientation course at Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area.

Chukwu said the high level of discipline exhibited by the corp members was an indication that they are well equipped and prepared to make positive changes in the state and Nigeria at large.

He advised them to respect the culture and traditions of their host communities while assuring them of government’s commitment to their welfare and security.

The state coordinator also cautioned them against traveling without permission, and especially against night journeys.
