Wike confesses what Nigerians know about his role in Secondus’ downfall
Governor Nyesom Wike has confessed he worked for the downfall of the man he helped up the PDP hierarchy, ex-Chairman Uche Secondus who got pushed out unceremoniously.
When push came to shove then, the first legal suit suspending Secondus originated in Port Harcourt on August 24, and Wike denied involvement.
Since then the party and Secondus have been darting in and out of court—until the party had its national convention
In an interview with BBC Pidgin on Tuesday, Wike owned up to being part of the conspiracy.
“I have never denied of being involved in the removal of Secondus,” he said.
“He was not doing well so his ward first suspended him and I am glad they did that.
“I am not the type of governors that deny their actions. I know I have hand in his removal and I’m not afraid to say it.
“I did that because if we allow him to continue as PDP chairman, the party will die.”
