Peterside, Sanusi, Kukah, others collaborate to inspire Nigerian youths to vote in 2023 elections
Prominent Nigerians are rising to collaborate in inspiring Nigerian youths to participate actively in the 2023 general elections, particularly, in voting to ensure that quality leaders emerge from the polls.
Among the statesmen of goodwill are the 14th Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Dr. Muhammad Sanusi II, the President and Founder of Anap Foundation, Atedo Peterside, Bishop Matheu Kukah, among others. Atedo Peterside had disclosed that the Foundation is collaborating with select social influencers across the country to encourage Nigerian youths to participate in massive registration to get their voters’ card in order to vote in the 2023 general elections.
Peterside citing Socrates immortal axiom: “one of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors,” stated why the Nigerian youths can continue to stay aloof during elections, rather than get involved to reclaim the country through the power of the ballot.
Peterside encouraged “Nigerian youths of 18 years and above to register for and claim their voters’ card well before the 2023 elections”; “Let us act now to build the Nigeria we desire,” he said.
The major partners with Anap Foundation in socialization and mobilization mission include the 14th Emir of Kano, Dr. Muhammad Sanusi II; Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto; former World Bank Treasurer and Chairperson of Royal African Society, Ms. Arunma Oteh, also a former director general of Securities and Exchange Commission; a former Minister and Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Dr. Salamatu Hussaini Suleiman; the National Chairman of Youth Party, Tomiwa Aladekomo; an Author, Ms. Ayisa Osori, and former Deputy Managing Director of NLNG and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Ibrahim Dahiru.
Apart from Tomiwa Aladekomo, other statesmen are non-partisan stakeholders in the polity.
