How kidnappers shot dead LGA chairman’s orderly who doubled as undergraduate
The chairman of Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has been abducted, and his police orderly shot dead at Gudi, Akwanga LGA, on his way from Keffi to Lafia, the state capital on Friday.
According to reports, the sergeant attached to Muhammad Shehu, a 400-level sociology student, engaged the criminals in a shoot-out before he was gunned down.
His remains were recovered around 7pm Friday.
“The gunmen mounted roadblocks along the Keffi-Akwanga road and shot sporadically into the air which compelled them to stop their vehicle before they were kidnapped,” a source told Daily Trust.
The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa state command, Mr Adesina Soyemi, confirmed the incident, adding policemen had taken over the location of the attack in order to rescue the victims and arrest the kidnappers.
