Shekarau falls apart again with Kwankwaso, plans defection from NNPP
Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, representing Kano Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, may have falling apart gain with the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria \peoples party (NNPP), Engr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso. Shekarau peaking to the Advisory Council of his political structure from the 44 local government areas of the state, disclosed his defection intention, but urged his supporters to be patient and wait for his final decision on whether they will remain or dump the NNPP.
He complained of his supporters being marginalised in the NNPP, despite existing agreement.
According to Shekarau, “We reached an agreement with NNPP to accommodate my supporters in various elective positions in the party.
“However, the party has failed to accommodate a single person apart from the senatorial slot given to me.”
The former Kano governor protested that the party did not consult him on the fate of his supporters seeking elective positions on the platform of the party.
Attempts made to get the reaction of the party’s Chairman, Alhaji Umar Doguwa, on the issue were unsuccessful.
