Aisha Yesufu advocates universal standard for free, fair, credible elections
Comrade Aisha Yesufu has advocated the adoption of widely acceptable universal standards for free, fair and credible elections in the world for the election of leaders to avert coup.
Aisha was of the view that such universally acceptable standards of transparent election would discourage the resurgence of military coup in many countries.

She argued that countries cannot have different standards of electoral process and expect sustenance of democracy in flawed elections.
Aisha Yesufu, accordingly, warned: “We cannot continue to have different standards otherwise military coup will become the order of the day.”
