An immigration officer, Isah Mohammed, was killed by angry youths in Niger State on Wednesday amid a long-standing land dispute between the Doko and Kupafu communities.

Mohammed, a native of the Zhitsu Babi area in Doko, was attacked on his farmland.

The conflict between the two communities in Lavun Local Government Area has persisted for years, despite efforts by traditional leaders and law enforcement to mediate.

The situation escalated when individuals from the Kupafu community confronted Mohammed.

Niger State Police Command spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident, stating that Mohammed was found unconscious and rushed to Umaru Sanda Ndayako General Hospital in Bida, where he was pronounced dead.
