Lagos legislator put smile on ex-council officials face
By Lanre Adesanya
The lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Shokunle Olushola Hakeem has exhibited kind gesture towards a former council official battling with partial paralysis.
The legislator while presenting a cheque of N250,000 to the former two term councillor of Ward D1, Hon. Azeez Liadi (Koseki), stated that the gesture was borne out of the need for proper medical attention to the man in question.
He stressed that being an honourable member is just a privilege, anybody can be bestowed with the office but one things stand out, whoever you have impacted positively will remember you even after you are no longer in position.
“I am not given to too much noise making, I only wade into his situation to offer respite because I discovered he has not been properly treated all the while now I will ensure he takes the right medical steps to hasten his recovery, he cannot afford to divert the money for another purpose”.
It will be recalled that the lawmaker some months ago doled out N500,000 to support a blind constituent.
Tracing the Genesis of his dwindling health status, the fidgeting partially paralyzed Azeez Liadi, noted that his pathetic ordeals started immediately after his tenure ended at council.
According him, we have had a lot of people before Shokunle, who felt unconcerned about my plight but I thank God for using him to help my condition.
“Personally I have spent N760,000, another N100,000 raised to support me also went down the drain, with little or nothing to show for the monies spent so far”.
