Speaker suspected of plotting impeachment before being impeached – Shehu Sani
A renowned human rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani, on Monday postulated five reasons that can lead to the impeachment of former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly by members of the House, the principal tentative reason being “strong suspicion that the Speaker is plotting impeachment”, and hypothetically, of the governor.
Sani, in highlighting five factors that can lead to the impeachment of a Speaker of a State Assembly, cited experiences in Nigeria from 1999.
Shehu Sani issued the statement immediately after former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa of the Lagos State House of Assembly was impeached on Monday.
