Abducted teenager found in Kogi after escaping captors in Onitsha
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the discovery of a 15-year-old boy, Chibuike Damian Onyebuchi, who was reportedly abducted in Onitsha, Anambra State, and later found in Kogi State after escaping his captors.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed that efforts are underway to reunite the teenager with his family.
Onyebuchi, who hails from a community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, recounted his ordeal, stating that he was kidnapped by unidentified individuals and taken to an undisclosed location.
After a harrowing escape, he found himself in Kogi State, where good Samaritans facilitated his arrival at a local police station.
The Anambra State Police Command has called on the public to assist in identifying Onyebuchi and ensuring his safe return to his family.

“The boy, who hails from Ihiala LGA, was abducted in Onitsha but recently found in Kogi State. He is currently in the safe custody of the Kogi State Police Command,” the statement read.
SP Ikenga added that the police are seeking public cooperation in spreading the information about the boy’s situation, including his photograph, to facilitate his identification and reunion with his family.
The police have appealed to media outlets and residents of Onitsha, Ihiala, and surrounding areas to share information about Onyebuchi widely. This development underscores the importance of vigilance and public cooperation in addressing abductions and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
The circumstances surrounding the abduction remain under investigation as authorities work to apprehend the suspects responsible for the crime.
