Kidnappers play this trick to abduct traditional ruler
By IFEOMA Ikem
A new dimension has been added to several tricks by kidnappers to cajole victims. A traditional ruler has been abducted by kidnappers pretending that they wanted to buy a plot of land in Lagos.
The Baale of Shangisha, Chief Yusuf Ogundare, was said to have been kidnapped about 13.30 hrs, on Wednesday.
It was learnt that one Mohammed Adams of Mutairu Street Shangisha, told the police that he accompanied his brother, (the victim) Yusuf Ogundare to CMD Guest House, Shangisha, where he was invited through phone call by some men who wanted to buy a piece of land.
He further added that while taking the men to Shangisha with their Toyota Venza saloon car for the land inspection, they discovered that there were other three men inside the car who were armed.
Mohammed explained that immediately they entered, the hoodlums zoomed off and diverted to Domino’s Pizza Junction, along the CMD road, Shangisha, and dropped him by the roadside while his brother was taken away to an unknown destination.
ASP Olarinde Famous – Cole, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, who has confirmed the abduction, urged members of the public to assist police with useful information about criminals.

Meanwhile, National Daily learnt that efforts made by family members to reach their brother on phone has proved abortive.
Mohammed, the younger brother, however, fingered one Adams and Jamiu Lawal as the prime suspects that abducted the Baale, saying that there has been a long feud between the suspects and the Baale of Shangisha on Baale’s title.
It was gathered that the suspect lives at No 5 Lawal street Oregun & Saliu Akanni.
