Drama as Africa tour N0.1 seed crashes out of Southeast shoot out
After the third round on Friday, sixteen best golfers were selected for the 9 hole stroke knockout match, while the remaining ones crashed out of the tourney.
No 1 seed, Ghana’s Vincent Torgah finished the third round top of the leader board with an incredible 14- par and was paired with the sixteenth place Kwame Ligbidi. Book makers have already written Ligbidi off before the nine hole match, but the 26 years proved them wrong when he made an impressive drive from the girst tee box , leading to a par in the first hole, while Torgah made a boggy.
By the end of the 4th hole, inspired Ligbidi has made 2 pars and 2 birdies moving four shots ahead of already in pressure Torgah, who made 3 bogies and a par.
The young Ghanian golfer did not look back as he finished the night hole 7 shots better than Torgah, sending out him of the tourney.
After the nine hole knockout match, 8 players made to the quarterfinals. Saturday is the deal day as the golfers shoot to finish.
