After 28 years, I’ve “decided to retire from my journalism career – Kemi Olunloyo
kemi Olunloyo, a Nigerian Journalist and blogger was on her Twitter account yesterday to announce to her followers that she is retiring from journalism, a profession she has been practicing for 28 years.
In her press release, Kemi Olunloyo said that the first day of April 2022 will be her last day in journalism, she thanked her followers from the United States of America, United Kingdom and Nigeria who have been following her from 1994 to 2022. she stated that Journalism is all about defending media freedom and bringing out the truth and nothing more.
Kemi Olunloyo said she decided to end her international journalism career to focus more on herself and drug abuse prevention campaign, in conclusion, she stated that she will no longer be reporting or analysing news stories. For those that might want to think that the announcement is an April fool prank, Kemi made it known to them that she is retiring for real, she said this retirement was supposed to happen when she clocks 60 years old and her Journalism career will be 30 years old but she had to do it now because she can no longer continue. she pledged to continue to train young journalists, bloggers and writers through her school. Kemi is 58 years old.
kemi Olunloyo’s fans were sad that she is leaving Journalism, they took to the comments section to thank her for blessing them with good analysis, they also prayed that she becomes successful in her next endeavour. Kemi has really built a brand for herself in Nigerian journalism and she will be greatly remembered.
