Another whale of dead meat washed on shore in Bayelsa, feasting begins
Foropah, in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa, on Tuesday woke up September 13 to be greeted by a dead white whale washed on-shore.
And as usual, the villagers began to butcher it.
Dead whales washing up shores, and communities turning them to fish offering has been happening in Bayelsa over the years
In July, 2019, Okpoma, Brass, had one brought in by waves, and the communities descended on it.
Also in Akwa Ibom , an October tide brought people of Okpo Ita, Ibeno LGA, a dead whale, and the communities in the area did justice to it.
Lagosians also had one of those dead whales brought up the Bar Beach.
Most of the incidents in Bayelsa and other south-south states have been attributed to oil giants operations polluting the habitat of the whales.
