APC Reps member defect to PDP in Zamfara
A member of the House of Representatives of the national Assembly, Suleiman Abubakar Gummi, representing Gummi/Bukuyyum federal Constituency in Zamfara State has dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and gone back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party platform he was elected a federal lawmaker in 2019.
Suleiman Gummi had joined Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State and other top Government Officials to defect to the APC in June 2021.
Suleiman Gummi, declaring his defection with his supporters to the PDP in Gummi, Local Government Area, Zamfara State, explained that he was frustrated out of the party after Governor Bello Matawalle and former Governor Abdul’azeez Yari shared 2023 election tickets among themselves, their supporters, and other APC leaders, which excluded him.
The lawmaker was cited to have declared: “We cannot Continue to remain in APC, especially, the way the party is going in Zamfara State. The party has lost focus and is not doing anything to deliver dividends of Democracy to the People.
“APC in Zamfara has shared position to Governor Bello Matawalle and former Governor Abdul’azeez Yari’s anointed candidates even before the party’s primary election ahead of next election and this is not politics.
“Our move to the PDP will open a new page in Zamfara, because even as we speak, our children will not Participate.”
