Autopsy Shocker! Respiratory seizure responsible for Ronke Shonde’s death
Against all existing permutations and insinuations that Mr Lekan Shonde might have been responsible for the death of his wife, Ronke, in Lagos a fortnight ago, the man has been exonerated as autopsy result indicates.
The autopsy report which was taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, at exactly 8.45pm on Wednesday cited one of the chief cause of death as Respiratory Seizure.
It was gathered that the autopsy was concluded on Wednesday by pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). It was further learnt that other parts of the deceased examined included the bruises on her skin.
A police source said although other possible causes were listed, they were not attributable to violence or aggressive battering.

It was not however disclosed what led to the seizure as other bruises on her body, it was gathered, did not establish that it led to her death.
However, medical experts say seizures could be caused by either a severe blow to the head, acute fever or severe case of intoxication noting that person suffering from the seizure might first loose consciousness among other manifestations.
Lekan, had surrendered himself to the police after four days of hiding. He is still detained by the police authorities in Panti, Yaba depending further investigations and possible charge to court.
Lekan has maintained innocence claiming that he was not responsible for the death of his wife. Ronke was allegedly flirting with her boss in office and was accused to have travelled with the lover to Abuja where they engaged in sex extravaganza.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Dolapo Badmos confirmed the completion of the autopsy report but refused to comment further on the outcome of the result.
She also refused to say whether the result exonerated the suspect or not.
She said, “I can confirm that the result is out this night but I cannot give further details. There is a directive from the Inspector General of Police that nobody should comment on the autopsy because it’s for the purpose of investigation.”
