Bode George shows interest to work with Tinubu on permission from PDP
A political arch-rival of President Bola Tinubu in Lagos State, Chief Olabode George, on Wednesday showed interest to work with the All Progressives Congress (APC) government led by President Bola Tinubu, saying that he would first secure permission from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before accepting to work with the Tinubu administration.
Bode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of eh PDP, speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday morning, asserted that if requested to work with Tinubu and the APC government, he would first have to take permission from the PDP before working with Tinubu. He maintained that he is still a solid member of the PDP and will never defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bode George stated that himself and Tinubu are not at war, clarifying that the main difference between the President is Tinubu’s methodology and managerial style. He pointed out that himself has a background in the military and experience in military logistics.
According to him, “the major difference between Bola and I is his methodology, his managerial style, is unlike me. I have a background in the military and I am a logistician in the military.
“You don’t carry your men to war without adequately doing your serious planning, intelligence gathering.”
George also said that the petition of the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections may favour Atiku Abubakar, adding that if the court confirms Tinubu’s victory in the presidential poll, he will have no way than to pray for Nigeria. He maintained that process is not over, and that people should wait for the process to be concluded.
“Let’s wait for the outcome of the judiciary. The process is not over. The day the process is over and the court pronounce him as the President, we have no way to fight but to pray for Nigeria,” Bode George declared.
The elder statesman has been highly critical of Tinubu over the years in the battle to control the politics of Lagos State. He, at all time, gives Tinubu a run for the control of political power in Lagos.
